The most significant site on our way will be Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace – built in the 4th century AD was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1979 together with the rest of historical complex of Split Old Town. Walking along Diocletian's Palace Walls you will admire Temple of Jupiter, Peristyle Square with Cathedral of St. Domnius, Golden, Iron and Brass Gate. You will go through the Main Square, Fruit Square and reach remains of Benedectine Monastery of St. Eufemia as well as the statue of Gregory of Nin. You will also have a chance to experience unique atmosphere of the old centre with numerous restaurants, cafes, shops and local people still living inside this area of the city.
